时间 2月23日, 星期六，5:00-9:00pm
Please mark your calendar for an end-of-summer volunteer party between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., on Sunday, September 16.
Many thanks to Tom He’s hospitality. The party will be hosted in his 6000 sq ft house, where we can sing Karaoke and enjoy the beautiful evening view of the bay. Free food and drink will be provided. Your partners are also very welcome. Due to liability concern, we recommend NOT to bring kids. We will send the detailed address to you separately after your registration.
In this get-together, we will introduce the new volunteers, share each individual’s stories, chat about our alumni association and listen to your ideas and suggestions…
In addition, we’ll have two guest alumnus speakers, Dr. Ping Xue and Ms. Laura Luo.
Brief introduction: Startups 101 for Global Entrepreneurs is part of the Chung-Tung University Alumni Association-NC (CTUAA-NC) continuing program on entrepreneurship for its Bay Area members. The program will address the basics of starting a company in the United States, in Greater China or in an offshore location like the Caymans and how to position the startup for investment and exit. Intellectual property strategy for a global startup will also be discussed. The topics will be presented in a practical, useful way and will focus on key issues so attendees can take the next step in transforming their idea into a business
Dear CTUAA alumni,
With the high growth of Chinese economy in recent decades, more and more students from Taiwan and China enter North America to get their graduate degrees. According to the statistical data, there were 28 students who got admitted to Stanford after studying at the Michigan College of SJTU in 2011. Statistics also indicate that in North California, more than 250 students come from CTU/JTU annually.
Speaker: Mr. Jack Jia, Parnter of GSR Ventures, Founder/Chairman of Baynote Inc
The speaker will share with us his personal experience as a serial entrepreneur, as well as his thoughts about entrepreneurship and building technology companies. As a venture capitalist, the speaker will also provide us the insights into funding startups from VC’s perspective. In addition, the speaker will talk about opportunities in technology and China related sectors, and give us a brief introduction to GSR ventures. In the interactive discussion, the speaker will address your specific questions.
